UK Channel to Air Pregnant Man Documentary
Friday, January 16th, 2009
Thomas Beatie, who became pregnant through artificial insemination, gave birth to a baby girl last June 29. He drew in a lot of attention and mixed reactions from the media and from curious people who wanted to know how he achieved this puzzling feat.
Well, televiewers will soon get the chance to witness Beatie’s story as UK’s Channel 4 has been given the go signal to film a documentary about the controversial father/mother. The documentary will give televiewers a peek at how Beatie transformed from Hawaiian beauty pageant contestant Tracy Lagondino into a man after gender reassignment surgery and hormone treatment.
This is clearly one intriguing and interesting documentary for both the male and female audiences. Men will want to find out how Beatie made it through his transformation and how he managed to live looking like a man while bearing a uterus. Women, on the other hand, will be curious about how it feels to carry a baby in the womb while looking every bit like a man.
Whether we believe that this is sensational journalism or not, stuff like this are few and far between; and we therefore have no reason keep mum about the whole thing. Bringing the real story out into the public will not only be entertaining but eye-opening and informative as well.
Beatie’s story is also proof of what the majestic wonders of science and technology is capable of doing for human beings.
